Use the Question Formulation Technique (QFT) to help people you work with build the skill of asking their own questions.
You can use the following materials in both one-on-one and group settings — in teaching or direct service delivery. Materials include basic templates, worksheets, facilitation and teaching guides, and background information on the QFT.

This template takes people through the process of learning to ask their own questions. You can use it by yourself or with people you work with.
2. Why teach the QFT?
A short explanation about why it’s important to teach people to ask their own questions and why the QFT is an effective way to do it.
3. QFT facilitation guide
A step-by-step facilitation guide for leading individuals or groups through the process of learning to ask their own questions. This guide can be used for one-on-one sessions (15 minutes or less) or for group workshops (30-40 minutes).
