Harvard course in July
Our online course, offered through the Harvard Graduate School of Education, begins July 12. Teaching Students to Ask Their Own Questions: Best Practices in the Question Formulation Technique explores the powerful experience both educators and students can have when students learn to formulate, improve, and work with their own questions — a key skill for learning and life.

Earn a micro-credential through the NEA
The National Education Association (NEA) is offering a micro-credential called the Question Formulation Technique & Primary Sources. It’s free for NEA members and $75 for non-members, and states or districts may recognize it for professional development credits. This micro-credential was developed in collaboration with Citizen U as part of the Barat Education Foundation’s Library of Congress TPS project to build a library of micro-credentials related to teaching and learning with primary sources.
Learn with National Geographic
We’ve teamed up with National Geographic for an online course: Teaching Students to ASK Their Own Geo-Inquiry Questions. It explores how to use the Question Formulation Technique to generate geographic questions — an integral part of National Geographic’s Geo-Inquiry Process. Educators will gain a deeper understanding of both the QFT and the Geo-Inquiry Process and develop an implementation plan to use in the classroom. Limited spots available!
