Join us Tuesday, May 5th at 8:00 p.m. ET for a free, 60-minute webinar to show you how to use the “Why Vote?” Tool, a surprisingly simple but powerful tool to help lower-income adults realize, on their own, how voting benefits them personally.
Please share this session with anyone in your network looking for practical ways to encourage civic participation and voter engagement.
Traditional voter-engagement programs have failed to reach lower-income adults, who are far less likely to participate in elections than wealthier adults. A big reason why many don’t vote: They don’t see a direct link between voting and the decisions that elected leaders make on issues such as health care, child care, food assistance, neighborhood safety and public housing.
Instead of telling people why they should vote, the “Why Vote?” Tool guides individuals through a short exercise that makes clear how voting is connected to the government services and aid programs they indicate are most important to them. The tool’s users frequently become more motivated and determined to vote.
In this free, interactive webinar, Naomi Campbell and Luz Santana will introduce the “Why Vote?” Tool and explain how and why it works. The webinar is open to anyone who works for an organization that serves lower-income communities and wants to engage voters in a nonpartisan way. Community leaders, volunteers and others interested in get-out-the-vote efforts are welcome, too.
This webinar is designed for:
- Frontline workers at direct services organizations and agencies.
- Instructors who work in adult and workforce education programs.
- Educators who work with parents in lower-income communities.
- Voter-engagement advocates.
- Community leaders.
- All people interested in taking action to strengthen democracy, now and for the long term
Can’t attend live? All registrants will automatically receive the webinar recording and presentation slides via email.
