This course is an introductory experience to the Right Question Institute’s Question Formulation Technique (QFT) for Maine educators. Hosted by the Maine Department of Education (DOE) Interdisciplinary Instruction Team, this course will show teachers how to adapt the QFT for specific purposes, including interdisciplinary and conceptual learning.
The QFT empowers students with the strategies and tools to formulate their own questions—for participation, self-advocacy, and lifelong learning, activating the curiosity that leads to exploration. The course begins with a reflection on the educators’ relationship to asking questions, and the norms and expectations for students’ questions in their classroom.
