How do we better prepare students (and ourselves) to navigate change and make decisions when so much remains unknown? Asking good questions is an essential skill for learning and for life, particularly in moments of profound change. And even as so much changes, curiosity remains just as critical as ever for building and sustaining student engagement, collaboration, and inquiry in our (virtual or physical) classrooms. Learn how to deliberately teach the skills of curiosity and question formulation. In this hands on, interactive workshop, participants will experience the Question Formulation Technique (QFT), a simple, step by step process that teaches students how to ask and work with their own questions. Participants will see examples of how the QFT is being used by educators in diverse settings around the world, including in completely virtual environments. Leave with a deep understanding of the strategy and the ability to immediately apply it with students.
