To qualify for inclusion in the community of practice, each participant must be teaching or tutoring adult learners for the duration of the program.
The community of practice will include:
- One initial 1.5-hour training session, held the week of January 26, 2026.
- One follow up 1.5-hour training session, held the week of February 9, 2026.
- Individual follow-up sessions to answer program-specific questions, held in late February and early March, 2026.
- Monthly one-hour community of practice meetings to share successes, challenges, and progress with integration to existing instruction. These will be held on the third Tuesday of each month from February through June, 2026, with meeting time to be determined depending on majority availability.

Question formulation is an overlooked yet foundational skill for thinking and taking action on one’s own behalf. When adult educators deliberately teach this skill, their learners:
- Strengthen their ability to think and learn independently, in the classroom and beyond.
- Feel new agency and confidence as they navigate systems and participate in decisions that affect them in a range of institutions.
- Develop their skills to advocate for themselves and their families and take action on their own behalf.
